Lovely views, enjoyed stunning and beautiful setting.
Location: the hotel was right by the center of the village of Ancelles, the mountains and the restaurant. There was a gastronomic restaurant nearby.

The location was stunning, in a wonderful area for walking, which is definitely a plus. It was also just a short walk to the center of the village and the Hautes-Alpes. the room was comfortable and featured a safe, a sofa bed, and central heating, just like in the advertising.

Good breakfast. Nice dining room. Rooms are comfortable. Food is of good quality.People are very friendly.
There is a fireplace in the dining room, but it's a shame there isn't one where you can have a drink after skiing. It was even a bit too cold to have an après-ski drink. Food is excellent, but it would be nice to have more choice. Spa is a bit expensive.

Rude receptionist. Flies in the breakfast room. Noise from external AC unit. Very small bathroom. Budget standard hotel but at an expensive price. Poor room decor - part unpainted. General lack of cleanliness. Poor value for money.

Big bathroom. Kitchenette.
The hotel was a bit of a walk to the section of town we wanted to visit -- about 5 blocks. This made it inconvenient to return to the hotel for forgotten items. Otherwise, ok.

Was able to fit family of five in one room, albeit not comfortably. The bedcovers/decor had the feel of a mountain resort and housekeeping came daily to tidy the room. Common sitting area had feel of lodge (but no mountain views)
There are nicer bed and breakfasts in the area which can comfortably accommodate a family of 5 and include breakfasts and dinners for the price of "room only" at Les Autanes. Our "room for 5", included a dingy, half-broken, fold-up cot that took up all available floor space. It's blanket might have been a hold-over from wwii. We were woken constantly starting at 7 am as church next door rang its bell literally hundreds of times (we counted!) between 7 am and 9 am. Room was too hot and when we opened windows, were taken over by wasps and flies. Pool is small and not well heated. Carpeted floors in hallways/room needs serious cleaning.

The view from our room was stunning and we enjoyed watching the sunset every night. the staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome during our stay. We were able to take a short walk to nearby hiking trails, which was a great way to explore the area.
The breakfast didn't offer much variety and the food was sometimes uncovered, which attracted flies. the room was small and lacked storage space for our belongings.
